Handmade in the Leila Ray Studio, this stunning 1970s prairie dress and artist’s smock is a rare treasure.
The dress fabric is a as new deadstock fabric probably 1970s, washed 100 %cotton printed floral. Swiss style open work weave. The smock is a printed cotton blend, probably true 1970s, in a linen look weave mid weight fabric which give it a lovely swing.
We have reworked the fabrics using a true 1970s pattern. The prairie dress has a ruffle neck, straight bodilce and flared skirt with ruffle hem. Long bell sleeves with elasticated cuffs and ruffle hem. Centre back zip. The smock has a back tie fastening and can be work over the dress or over other dresses!
